The Kalamazoo River Guardians will meet Saturday, June 4, to monitor the health of the Kalamazoo River and its local tributaries. We welcome community scientists to join us, no matter their experience level! Participants will use nets to sample macroinvertebrates (water bugs) from one of four sampling sites. We’ll bring the samples back to our lab to be identified under microscopes as a group and then used to understand the quality of the water. The data gathered will be entered into a state-wide database and contribute to valuable research. This event will run from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Registration required.
Meet: Merrill Park 5845 Comstock Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49048
